Why home
What a home lane actually changes
Ask around any academy and you will hear the same arithmetic. The session is an hour, the travel is two, and the range calendar decides which evenings count. A home shooting range deletes the travel and the calendar, and keeps the shooting.
To be clear about what it is not: a replacement for coached academy time. The shooters who get the most from a home lane treat it as the practice between coached sessions, not instead of them.
Home installations
Hundreds of shooters have installed Tachus 10 at home.
01
Train when your schedule allows
Before school. After the shop closes. The lane does not keep hours.
02
No travel for routine practice
Travel is usually the most expensive part of a training day, and it is the part a home lane removes entirely. The trips you still make are the ones with a coach at the other end.
03
Longer sessions when they matter
Before a trial you may want 120 shots, not 60. At home the session ends when the work is done. Nothing else at the range is waiting for the lane.
04
Somewhere to experiment
A grip change usually needs a few hundred quiet repetitions before it survives a scored match. Doing that work at home means academy time stays for coaching, not rebuilding.
05
It feeds the academy work
You arrive with a week of scored practice on record instead of a feeling about how it went. Coaches do more with that.
The record
The scoring follows you home.
The target scores acoustically and puts every shot on screen as it lands: position, decimal score, direction, shot time, inner ten count, group and totals. It is the same scoring software academy ranges run, included with the system at no additional software cost.
Sessions build a record you can actually study. Tachus Analytics Reports help you compare progress from week to week, using reports prepared from your training data and shared with you.

The setup
What the lane needs from the house
Not much, honestly. But the four things below are worth settling before anything goes on a wall, and we plan each of them with you before you order.
A clear 10 metre line
Ten straight metres from the firing point to the target face, plus room to stand. Spare rooms and corridors are the usual candidates, and we have seen more creative spaces work. If you are not sure yours does, send us the measurements first.
Target position and mounting
The unit mounts on the wall you have, at a position we confirm with you before anything goes up rather than leaving it to guesswork.
A computer at the firing point
The target connects by cable to a Windows laptop or PC beside the shooter, so budget table space for it. The included Android application runs scoring on a tablet as well.
Light on the target
Already handled. The target face carries its own adjustable LED illumination.
Equipment
The system to buy
For a home lane the answer is usually Tachus 10. It covers both 10 m air events on one unit, and 10 m is what home practice normally needs. The 50/10 Hybrid exists for the rare lane that must also serve 50 m.
Tachus 10 ETS
10 m
The standard home choice. One unit covers both 10 m events, connects to a laptop at the firing point and runs the same scoring software academy ranges use.
Tachus 50/10 ETS
50 m / 10 m
Only worth a look when the same lane must also serve 50 m events. Ask us before you spec it.
Every Tachus system includes the Windows scoring software and the Android application at no additional software cost.
Owning it
Upkeep, warranty and support.
Upkeep is honestly short. The paper roll advances by itself after every shot and gets replaced when it runs out, and pellets collect in a removable trap that lifts out for emptying. That is the routine, all of it.
The warranty is two years, extendable up to eight. Support is the Bengaluru team on phone and WhatsApp, the same channel the academies use. Software updates are part of support after purchase too.
From people who did it

“Very good system. Purchased for my son for practicing at home. After sale service is excellent.”
“I've been using Tachus 10 Electronic Target System from July 2020. I really like that after a match I am able to view the exact time I took for each shot and that has really helped improve my performance. I also liked that I can do a match with any number of shots. This way I am able to view my scores at any stage of the match. If I have any small issue, I can contact the company and they help me solve it immediately. I am extremely happy with the service. As someone who had never had a personal target, I had always thought that there would be complications. But I was pleasantly surprised because the system was very easy to use. I would definitely recommend Tachus to anyone who is looking to get a personal target installed.”

Common questions
How much space does a home shooting range need?
For 10 m air rifle and air pistol you need a clear, straight 10 metres from the firing point to the target face, plus room for the shooter and a small table for the computer. Exact clearances depend on the space, so share measurements with us and we will confirm the layout before you order.
Which Tachus system is right for home practice?
Tachus 10. It covers 10 m air rifle and 10 m air pistol on one unit and includes the scoring software. The 50/10 Hybrid exists for lanes that must also serve 50 m events, which is uncommon at home.
What equipment do I need besides the target?
A Windows laptop or PC at the firing point, connected to the target by cable. Every system also includes the Tachus Android application, optimized for tablets in portrait orientation. Contact our team to confirm current device and connection requirements before you buy.
Do I have to change targets between shots?
No. The paper roll advances automatically after every shot and presents a fresh target face. You replace the roll when it runs out.
What maintenance does a home lane need?
Replacing the paper roll and emptying the removable pellet trap. If anything else comes up, support is available by phone and WhatsApp.
Is there a warranty for home installations?
Yes, the same cover as ranges get: a warranty for two years, extendable up to eight years.
