The score is in the sound.

Every Tachus target locates shots by acoustics: the impact's own sound wave, a set of sensors, and timing mathematics. No judgement calls, no scoring gauges. The same shot always scores the same.

01 · Pipeline

From impact to score

Seven steps, a fraction of a second.

Scoring pipeline
  1. Shot impact

The pellet or bullet strikes the target’s impact medium: paper at 10 m, rubber at 25 m and 50 m.

  2. Acoustic signal

The impact produces a sound wave that spreads from the exact point of impact.

  3. Sensor detection

Acoustic sensors around the target frame detect the wave at fractionally different times.

  4. Signal processing

Sensor signals are converted to electrical data and the timing differences are computed.

  5. Shot position calculation

The system triangulates the precise impact coordinates from the timing data.

  6. Immediate score display

The shot position and decimal score appear on the connected screen within a fraction of a second.

  7. Analytics & reporting

Every shot feeds series totals, match totals, shot patterns and exportable reports.

The triangulation principle is the same one used to locate earthquakes from seismometer timings, applied at target scale. We keep sensor layouts and processing details proprietary; the physics above is the full picture a buyer needs.

02 · Software

The scoring software

Every system ships with software built by Tachus for Tachus hardware: Windows scoring software and an Android application optimized for tablets in portrait orientation.

  • Shot number, decimal score and direction for every shot
  • Shot time, inner ten count, MPI and group on screen
  • Series and match totals, compiled automatically
  • Pinch zoom, zoom control, target colour and pellet type settings
  • Free Practice Mode and Guided Checks for structured sessions
  • Green/red illumination timings set in software on 25 m systems

Reporting & analytics

Each shot's coordinates accumulate into series totals, match totals and shot pattern views. Tachus Analytics Reports turn that data into series breakdowns, rhythm, score progression and shot distribution for every session, developed with experienced coaches.

Range displays

The Tachus Display Manager collects live scoring from every lane tablet into a local display server and presents it through an operator interface in the browser and a range TV, with an optional public Live View that cannot control the range.

Training modes and drills

More than scoring.

Tachus 10 includes Tachus Scoring Software for Windows and the Tachus Android tablet application at no additional software cost. The selected capabilities below are available in both applications.

These are selected capabilities. Additional training modes and software tools are also included.

  1. 01

    ISSF Final Simulation

Practise using ISSF Final Simulation Mode with audio commands guiding the shooter through the session.

  2. 02

    Delayed score display

Choose when the score appears after each shot, helping the shooter maintain attention on hold and follow through before reacting to the result.

  3. 03

    Focus Mode

A dedicated training mode for both Air Rifle and Air Pistol, designed to support visualization and concentration.

  4. 04

    Group Analysis

A dedicated analysis feature helps shooters discover whether points were lost because of group size.

  5. 05

    Match Replay

Replay completed Standard matches shot by shot. Pause, resume or restart; choose 1×, 2× or 4× speed; or select a particular shot from the table.

  6. 06

    Performance Drills

Use dedicated drills designed to develop skill and control under match pressure.

03 · Ownership

Built to keep working

A target system is range infrastructure. Tachus systems are designed for long service with simple upkeep.

Consumables, not repairs

Routine upkeep is limited to consumables: paper rolls at 10 m, rubber impact bands at 25 m and 50 m, and emptying pellet traps.

Monitored hardware

The scoring software reports hardware health, so a degrading component is visible before it interrupts a session or match.

Straightforward installation

Systems connect by cable to a standard Windows PC at the firing point. Ranges have relocated and installed Tachus systems again when moving premises.

Supported from Bengaluru

Phone, WhatsApp and email support from the team that designs and builds the systems.
